Orkney is committed to helping care leavers achieve their ambitions by providing tailored support to access education, training, volunteering, and employment opportunities.

Care leavers will receive

  • Guaranteed interviews (Orkney Islands Council and NHS Orkney) to care leavers who meet the minimum requirements for advertised posts.
  • Opportunities to build confidence, develop skills, gain work experience, access apprenticeships, training, and secure sustainable employment.
  • Practical support with career planning, job searching, interview preparation, volunteering, and workplace experience.
